Award-Season eröffnet - Fincher erster Gewinner
Wie immer Anfang Dezember eröffnet die Preisvergabe des "National Board of Review" die Award-Season, die traditionell mit der Oscar-Verleihung endet.
Dabei ist die Vorhersagekraft des Hauptpreises im Bezug auf den späteren Best-Film-Oscar nicht sonderlich groß. Zumindest in den letzten 20 Jahren waren die Juroren nicht einmal in der Hälfte der Fälle gleicher Meinung wie die Academy-Mitglieder.
Dennoch wird eine erste Landmarke gesetzt und dieses Jahr ist David Fincher der große Gewinner.
Sein Zuckerberg-Biopic "The Social Network" war bislang der Kritiker-Liebling des amerikanischen Kino-Herbstes und startet nun auch mit "amtlich" zertifizierten Vorschußloorbeeren auf die lange Road to the Oscars.
Doch Prognosen mag man nach dem wechselvollen Auf und Ab der vergangenen Award-Season nicht wagen. Damals startete Clooneys "Up in the Air" hoffnungsvoll in den Winter, um bei den Kritikerpreisen doch stets von Kathryn Bigelow überholt zu werden. Und dann war da ja noch "Avatar", der sich mit einem historischen Box-Office-Erdbeben zum Januar-Star und Sieger bei den Globes entwickelte. Und am Ende kam dann wieder alles ganz anders.

Mark Ruffalo auf US-Terrorfahnderliste
Der sonst doch eher ruhige Schauspieler Mark Ruffalo darf sich über die zweifelhafte Ehre freuen, auf einer Liste der US-Terrorfahnder gelandet zu sein. Das liegt nicht etwa daran, dass er zuletzt in "The Kids are Allright" die Rolle eines Samenspenders übernommen hatte, der ein lesbisches Pärchen mit seinen Körpersäften beglückt und damit womöglich moralische Vorstellungen konservativer Amerikaner verletzt hat. Nein, Ruffalo ist verdächtig, da er die Dokumentation "Gasland" promotet hat und sich in dem Kontext kritisch zu Gasbohrungen geäußert hat. Erstaunlich, dass andere Öko-Prominenz wie Al Gore und Leonardo DiCaprio nicht auch längst auf der schwarzen Liste stehen.

Irvin Kershner gestorben
Heute ist wohl kein guter Tag. Neben Leslie Nielsen ist auch Irvin Kershner gestorben, Regisseur von Filmen wie "Star Wars Episode V: Das Imperium schlägt zurück", "Sag niemals nie" (James Bond) oder "Robocop 2".

Kershner ist im alter von 87 Jahren nach langer Krankheit gestorben.

Wesley Snipes soll tatsächlich ins Gefängnis
Bereits 2008 war der Schauspieler ("Blade", "Demolition Man") wegen Steuerhinterziehung zu drei Jahren Gefängnis verurteilt worden. Seitdem hatte Snipes versucht, einer Gefängnisstrafe durch Einspruch und Berufungen zu entgehen. Damit ist er nun endgültig gescheitert: sein letzter Einspruch wurde Freitag abgelehnt. Damit scheint Snipes um eine Haftstrafe nicht mehr herum zu kommen.
